RAIL services are running normally again after a car caused an obstruction on the line between Marks Tey and Colchester earlier today.
Some services were cancelled and others were delayed at short notice.
A spokesman for the Essex fire brigade said they were called to help winch the car from the area after it came off the A12 and ended up precariously close to the tracks.
He said no one was trapped or injured as a result.
Services had returned to normal shortly after 11pm.
