FIREFIGHTERS are damping down at the scene of a house fire which has engulfed the front bedroom of a two-storey house.
Two crews from Princes Street were sent out to the blaze in Richmond Road, Ipswich, at 3.35pm today, and quickly requested help from another two pumps because of the seriousness of the blaze.
Flames were licking out of the window of the terraced house and have left the top floor completely gutted with severe smoke damage to the rest of the house.
Firefighters were worried about the flames spreading to the properties on either side through the roof void, but managed to get the blaze under control before that happened.
