OFFICERS are continuing to investigate an attempted armed robbery at a shop in Ipswich last night.

Suffolk police received a report of an attempted armed robbery at the Spar store in Woodbridge Road at around 9.45pm.

Two men approached the female shop worker and demanded money from the till. One of the men threatened her with what appeared to be a handgun.

The other man was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit with a hooded top. Both men had their faces covered.

Police are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and will be reviewing CCTV footage from the shop and the surrounding area.

Officers will also be speaking to residents and conducting reassurance patrols in the area.

If you were in the area last night and saw two men matching this description then police would like to hear from you.

Calls can be made to Ipswich CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
