Police investigations are continuing and witnesses are being sought after a cannabis factory was found at a house in a north Suffolk village.
Shocked villagers in the tiny hamlet of Ashby, near Somerleyton, witnessed a large police presence over the weekend and the force helicopter was involved as the property was raided – with about 400 cannabis plants being recovered.
Officers were initially contacted at 2pm last Friday following reports of 'suspicious activity' inside a house in the village.
The spokesman said: 'Following a series of inquiries, officers forced their way into the property at 4pm on Saturday. A cannabis factory with approximately 400 plants was discovered on the premises which were seized. Inquiries are ongoing to establish who had been staying at the property.'
