Update: Male cyclist dies after collision with car in Colchester

A MALE cyclist has been killed in a collision with a car in Colchester.

Police were called to the junction of Bromley Road and Slough Lane at 12.50pm yesterday.

Ambulance staff were already at the scene of the collision between the 73-year-old cyclist and a Ford KA.

The man driving the car and a woman passenger were not injured.

Paramedics worked at the scene but the man was later pronounced dead.

Police closed the road until 5.30pm to enable them to carry out a full investigation.
