A man is due to appear in court tomorrow after having been charged with the murder of his mother in Clacton.
Police were contacted shortly before 7pm on Friday following concerns for the welfare of a woman inside a flat in St Vincent Road. Officers arrived and forced their way into the property where they found the body of 66-year-old Carol Cooper who lived there.
Peter Dickson was arrested at the flat and has been charged with one count of murder.
The 37-year-old carpet fitter, also from St Vincent Road in Clacton, has been detained in police custody prior to his appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
