A man from Ipswich who died after a collision on the A140 over the weekend has been named.

Police were called to the crash in Stoke Ash at 3am on Sunday after reports of an incident involving a Ford C-Max and a man who is thought to have got out of another vehicle.

It happened on the northbound carriageway close to the White Horse pub.

Named locally, Lewis Jarrett, 26, suffered serious leg and head injuries and was taken first to Ipswich Hospital. He was then transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital but he later died.

It is understood he had been in the road after the car he was travelling in with friends had stopped.

Police officers investigating the crash are renewing their appeal for witnesses and have asked for anyone with information to call Pc Dean Webb at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting CAD 79 of July 27.
