A missing man has been found "safe and well" in his home village near Southwold police have said.

Police, firefighters and coastguard crews launched on Friday a major search in east Suffolk for Jonathan Swart, 42, of Wangford, after he was last seen in the area of Henslow Road and Foxhall Road in Ipswich at 12.20am that morning.

His disappearance was described as being out of character and family members and police were concerned for his welfare.

But on Saturday afternoon, a spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary said he had been located.

The force spokesman said: “Jonathan Swart was located safe and well in Wangford early this morning on Saturday.
