An arson investigation has been launched by police after an empty property in Foxhall Road was badly damaged by fire.
Firefighters from Princes Street were sent to the scene at 4.25am this morning and discovered a two-storey detached house was heavily smoke logged. The fire was extinguished just before 5am.
An investigation by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service has since found the fire was started deliberately, and police are investigating.
Anyone with any information should call Sergeant Mark Pollikett at Ipswich Police on 101, quoting reference IE/14/857, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
