TRAIN passengers have been warned some journeys from Ipswich this weekend may take longer than usual as planned engineering works take place.

Train operator Greater Anglia said a replacement coach service will be in operation this weekend due to major enginneering work taking place between Ipswich and Norwich.

Both a fast and a slower-stopping coach service will replace trains in and out of Ipswich.

Meanwhile, track improvements and maintenance between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds started at 5am this morning and is to due to finish at 1:20am on Monday.

Whilst work is taking place, buses will replace trains between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.

Additional engineering work will also be taking place between Ipswich to and from Cambridge and Peterborough.

Greater Anglia said some trains may be altered as a result, causing extended journey times.

Full details of revised services are on the Greater Anglia website at www.greateranglia.co.uk
