A squatter has been taken to hospital after police tasered him while carrying out an eviction at a vacant west Suffolk pub.
The eviction was carried out this morning at the old Highbury Barn pub in Great Cornard, with owners Punch Taverns having obtained an eviction notice from the High Court.
The squatter - who has been living at the site for weeks - reportedly resisted police action, and was arrested on suspicion of affray after he had been tasered.
The 46-year-old was taken into custody at the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre, but has now been taken to West Suffolk Hospital as a precaution.
Last week Punch Taverns were granted permission to convert the site in Canhams Road into a food shop by Babergh District Council, with work starting at the site this morning.
