A 17-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a sexual assault in Bury St Edmunds.
A 26-year-old woman reported that she had been walking through the town centre between 4am and 5am on May 6 when she ended up on the ground and was assaulted by a male.
The teenager, from the Mildenhall area, was arrested yesterday and taken into custody at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
Today police charged him with committing an offence with the intention of committing a relevant sexual offence.
The boy has been released from police custody and will be appearing at Bury St Edmunds Youth Magistrates Court May 30.
