THREE casualties are in hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Main Road, Stratford St Andrew, this afternoon.

The emergency services were called to the scene, just opposite the BP garage, at about 1.22pm today after the reports of the incident which involved a Ford Fiesta and a Hyundai car.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said one man had suffered head injuries and was trapped in his car while a woman was also complaining of injuries as well.

The East of England Ambulance Service was called to the scene and three ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and the East Anglian Air Ambulance attended.

An ambulance service spokesperson said: “We conveyed all three casualties via land ambulance to Ipswich Hospital; two patients suffered minor injuries and a third was taken ill but is not in a life threatening condition.”

The road is currently blocked and diversions have been put in place.
