POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a crash involving a police car responding to an emergency call.
The collision happened at around 5.20pm in London Road, Colchester, near to the junction with Trafalgar Road yesterday.
The police car, a white Ford Focus estate, was responding to a 999 call to an assault and criminal damage incident in progress in Colchester, and collided with a gold Rover 45.
The driver of the Rover, a man in his 50s, was taken to Colchester General Hospital and treated for a slight head injury. The officers in the police cars were shaken but uninjured.
Witnesses or anyone with information should call should call investigating officer, Sgt Christopher Lemmon, at Stanway Road Policing Unit on 101 or colleagues at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
