A WOMAN has been airlifted to the Royal London Hospital with serious injuries following a collision on the A12 at Marks Tey.
At about 3.40pm a Citroen 2CV was in collision with a police Land Rover on the northbound carriageway of the A12 at Marks Tey.
The male Pc driver of the Land Rover was taken by land ambulance to Colchester General Hospital with minor injuries.
Both carriageways of the A12 were closed initially, however both are now open. Traffic is still said to be heavy in the area.
