Southbound traffic on the A12 is no longer being diverted through Witham after a crash.

The collision, involving four cars, took place earlier today between junction 22 for Witham North and junction 21 for Witham South.

Congestion had stretched back as far as Marks Tey.

The Highways Agency is no longer reporting delays in the area.

It is understood six people were injured in the crash, but none of them seriously enough to need hospital treatment.
