A SIXTH teenager has been arrested in connection with a murder in Colchester.

Jay Whiston, 17, was stabbed on Saturday night in Marlowe Way at a gathering attended by around 100 people.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of murder over the weekend and on Monday a fifth teenager - a 17-year-old boy from Colchester - was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was later re-arrested on suspicion of murder.

Then at lunchtime today another boy, 17, from Colchester, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Of the quartet initially arrested three are today continuing to be quizzed at police stations across north Essex while one, a 17-year-old boy, was last night released without charge.
