A MAN who was cut out of a car after it collided with a sign and overturned on a busy roundabout is believed to have suffered a seizure.
A black Volkswagen Polo ended up on its side on the busy Kings Road roundabout in Parkway at about 10.15am this morning.
Fourteen firefighters used hydraulic equipment to cut the man out of the car after he was assessed by paramedics.
The man was conscious when he was taken out of the car but was unable to communicate and has now been taken to hospital.
One eye witness said: “The car hit the sign and flipped over, it’s unbelievable.”
A policeman said that the car was coming from the town centre on Kings Road when the incident happened.
The Highways Agency have been called to deal with the damaged sign.
An air ambulance had landed at the scene but has now left.
Drivers had experienced delays after police closed the road to traffic going southbound, coming from Risbygate Street.
