A masked gang fled empty handed from a town centre ram raid.

They tried to steal the cash machine from Aldi, on Brandon High Street, just after 3am today.

Police said a white Ford Transit Van was used to ram the front window of the shop and an unsuccessful attempt was made to remove the cash machine. Four men in dark clothing with their faces covered then fled the scene empty handed in a white VW Golf.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101 quoting reference 37/11725/19 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
