TWO people were injured in a road accident in Colchester after which a van driver failed to stop, police have said.
The accident happened outside Sainsbury's petrol station in Tollgate on Friday at 7.20pm.
Officers said a white transit-style van collided with the back of a Ford Ka which in turn crashed head-on with a Honda Civic going into the opposite direction.
Investigating officer Pc Steve Cross said: “The van then pulled into the access road to the petrol station, stopping for a second or two before driving off through the petrol station forecourt and into Sainsbury's car park and then out on to Tollgate Road.
“A 25-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Civic and a 31-year-old man who was a passenger in the Ka both received minor injuries.
“It is believed the driver of the van to be a white man, with possibly two children with him.”
Anyone with any information should contact Pc Cross at Stanway Road Policing Unit on 0800 333 4444.
