PART of the A14 near Claydon was this evening obstructed after a transit van came off the carriageway and landed on its side.
The accident happened at about 6.40pm when police received a call reporting a collision involving a van.
Officers alerted the fire service and three crews from Needham Market, Stowmarket and Ipswich arrived at the scene to find no persons trapped as originally thought.
Firefighters made the vehicle safe while police officers waited for recovery vehicles to arrive.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said nobody was injured in the accident. He said it appeared a white transit van had gone over onto its side, coming off the eastbound carriageway causing minimal disruption to traffic.
He said: “Initially there were reports of two vehicles involved but it was confirmed to be a one vehicle accident.
“The road was closed very briefly and no major disruption was caused. The van came off the carriageway and down the bank a bit.”
