A MAN was beaten over the head, kicked and punched before being robbed of �30 cash and a mobile phone in Chelmsford.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery near the railway station in Duke Street at 3am on Sunday, October 25.
The 23-year-old man from Chelmsford was walking with his girlfriend when he was struck to the back of his head causing him to fall to the ground.
He was then punched and kicked before being robbed by who he thinks were three women and one man.
