He may be following in the family footsteps but the road to starting a career in the music industry has been anything but easy for singer/songwriter Felix Simpson.

The 21-year-old - whose cousins Charlie, Will and Edd are no strangers to the limelight - has now launched his first video, Still Tied.

But it has not been easy for the former Diss High School pupil, who also grew up in Woodbridge.

Just before Christmas he was subjected to a brutal assault and suffered a broken jaw - resulting in his mouth being wired shut.

It was during this time that the Diss community rallied round - donating more than £1,000 when he was unable to busk and gig over the festive period.

He has now spent that money on creating his first music video and is looking forward to following in the footsteps of his cousins.

Charlie has forged a successful solo career after fronting popular bands including Busted and Fightstar, Edd is lead singer with Union Sound Set and Will is the vocalist and guitarist in Brigade.

Felix, who was bought his first guitar at the age of four and studied at the British Academy of New Music in London, said: “The time over Christmas was incredibly frustrating. When I picked up my guitar I just wanted to sing and I wasn’t able to do it. However it made me more determined and now I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens.”
