For 11-year-old schoolgirl Myah Bristow the excitement surrounding this year’s World Cup arrived early – and now she’s sharing it with the country.

That’s because the Cedarwood Primary School pupil was picked from hundreds of other to star in ITV’s World Cup adverts.

The short trailers are played during advert breaks and show slow motion close-ups of fans’ emotions while watching a football match.

And after her successful auditions Myah, who aspires to become an actress, was picked to feature in an advert for the station’s fanb parks.

Not only that but she was also selected to be one of the focal points in her advert.

Now the young star, who started out at the Stagecoach theatre school in Ipswich, has said she couldn’t believe how it has all worked out.

Speaking about the audition itself Myah said: “There were lots of children there and a girl from Game of Thrones.

“When I was doing the casting mum couldn’t hear me and she didn’t think I was going to get it.

“When I got a recall she said I proved her wrong.

“I felt really special, that I’d been chosen for an actual role out of all these people.

“I wanted to do more. I’ve definitely got the taste for it now.”

When it came to filming the advert both Myah and mum Sam had to spend the day in Manchester.

And although they left their home in Grange Farm in the early morning light at 5am, not returning until almost midnight, Mrs Bristow said it was a fun day for both of them.

“We were picked up in a car and taken there and looked after really well. It was one of the better shoots.”

Although Mrs Bristow admitted going backwards and forwards to shoots with her daughter could be “stressful” at times she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“While she wants to do it I’m happy to be the chauffeur.

“I keep in contact with her school and they’re very understanding. Sarah at Stagecoach has been awesome as well.

“It’s her first TV commercial which is cool.”

The advert was shown during a break in Britain’s Got Talent on May 17 and Mrs Bristow added: “It was crazy on Saturday. They (her friends) all knew it was her. She’s the main focus of it.

“It’s made her a very confident little girl.”
