Police have tweeted a video showing the scale of an abnormal load which travelled through Suffolk today.

Traffic officers escorted the huge vehicle through Bramford at 9.30am this morning.

The load, which was an electrical reactor, travelled from West Bank Terminal in Ipswich to East Anglia One Substation on Bullen Lane in Bramford.

Police warned drivers of possible delays around the Ostrich Creek Bridge.

A police spokesman said: “In order to comply with weight restrictions there are special manoeuvres for the load at Ostrich Creek Bridge which necessitate a full closure northbound and southbound which will create traffic delays.”

The route followed the A137, A14, A1214, A1071 and B1113 before arriving in Bramford.
