Video: Rape investigation under way in Ipswich town centre

POLICE are today investigating a report of rape in an alleyway in Ipswich’s town centre.

At around 3.35am this morning, a 24-year-old woman reported being raped by two men in the area of Tower Church Yard, which is the alleyway between Church’s Bistro and Bar and the back of St Mary-Le-Tower. It is believed the incident took place between 3.15am and 3.25am.

Police cordoned off the area, while investigations were carried out.

The inquiry is in its early stages and the woman will be spoken to and given assistance by specially trained officers this morning.
