Volunteering, rodeo bulls and live music kick start freshers’ fair at Ipswich’s One sixth form

From rodeo bulls and Nirvana sing-alongs to help and advice from charities and businesses, One sixth form’s freshers’ fair was alive with activity from hundreds of students.

The sixth form laid on the freshers’ fair as part of the settling-in process for new students, with the returning cohort able to welcome the new intake into student life.

A student band was on hand to entertain their peers with classic rock tunes, while some students braved the rodeo bull.

Elsewhere organisations such as Community Action Suffolk and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices were on hand to offer volunteering opportunities.

Natasha Brame, community fundraiser for Suffolk at EACH said: “We came along to talk to students as they are our fundraisers of the future.

“The response has been good. It’s such a nice sixth form, I’m just sad that I didn’t get the opportunity to come here myself.”
