Volunteers for a brain injury and disability charity raised money for the organisation through a tandem skydive.
Five women from Brainwave Independence Group braved the skies and faced their fears at Ellough Airfield to help raise money for the charity’s new centre.
Working in partnership with East Coast Community Healthcare, the centre is being built at the The Point on Battery Green Road and is hoped to be open by the end of the year.
A spokesman said: “We cannot say at this time how much has been raised until everyone has collected their sponsorships but a massive thank you to Anne Fulton, Tracy Lomax, Nelly Oakley, Abbie Jackson, and Julie Day for their taking part.
“Everyone agreed it was fantastic, brave ladies, well done and congratulations.”
Ms Fulton said: “I was absolutely terrified when the door opened on the plane and I was the last to jump but the free fall was out of this world!”
