Suffolk's health scrutiny committee today voted to endorse Suffolk Primary Care Trust's (PCT) controversial decision to move the service to Norwich.
The committee listened to the PCT's argument that the move was needed to comply with national guidelines about the amount of people treated at specialist cancer centres.
The decision is a blow for health campaigners and clinicians at Ipswich Hospital who had called for the services to be retained.
