A Dutch sailor was treated in hospital for facial injuries after being picked up by a lifeboat crew from on board a tug and taken to shore.
The 28-year-old was injured in an accident on the Sea Echo, which was working on a windfarm near Thames Estuary.
Walton lifeboat was called to the tug, about six miles off shore, at 7.40pm.
The man was taken safely to shore and met by Walton coastguard and an Essex ambulance crew.
