DRIVERS in Essex have been urged to take care when driving along flooded roads.
The warning comes after fire crews had to rescue a total of 11 people from vehicles stranded in flood water in the Ingatestone area of the county today.
A spokesman for Essex Fire Service said: “Motorists should take care when driving on flooded roads and should take notice if a road has been closed.
“If you approach a flooded road and can not see the surface then do not attempt to drive into it.
“Serious damage can be done to your vehicle and it also puts your safety at risk.”
