A FAMILY had to be rescued by the Wattisham Search and Rescue helicopter today from the bottom of the cliffs at Walton-on-the-Naze.
The father, mother, son and daughter got into difficulties just before 1pm.
A spokeswoman for Thames Coastguard said: “We had four people cut off by the tide at the base of the Naze. The Wattisham crew were exercising locally and within four minutes we had them on the scene and the people were winched off.”
The family came from Harlow Tye in Essex.
