A man was resuced from mud by the RAF Sea King helicopter from Wattisham
A man had to be rescued after he got stuck in mud.
The drama unfolded at St Lawrence Bay in Maldon, near Chelmsford, around 8.15pm on Sunday.
It is understood the man’s daughter phoned 999 after he become stuck when he went out to find something he had lost earlier.
Coastguard from South Woodham Ferrers and Southend attended but the man was rescued by a Sea King helicopter from RAF Wattisham, near Stowmarket.
The man, who is middle aged, was taken to Colchester General Hospital to be checked over.
