SUFFOLK awoke to a bright, if chilly, morning today, on what is widely considered to be the first day of spring.

But with morning temperatures hovering around the 2C mark, it did not feel like spring had arrived.

As the weekend draws closer, residents are being advised to put springtime plans on hold because it is likely to be cold and miserable again. Much of the UK is predicted snow tomorrow night but East Anglia is likely to be spared - although we could see a few flakes on Saturday.

Strong winds are forecast, upto 16mph at times.

Together with low temperatures hovering around 1 or 2C, it continues to be a miserable March.
