A yellow weather warning for ice remains in place across parts of East Anglia this morning with some longer spells of rain forecast as the day progresses.

The Met Office’s ice warning remains in force until 11am this morning, and forecasters warn there will probably be icy stretches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Drivers were urged to take care yesterday after a flurry of accidents, including four on the A12 in just two hours.

It looks like a cloudy but largely dry start in the region today, although blustery showers are expected from mid morning, merging to give longer spells of rain at times.

There are currently no school closures reported across Suffolk and Essex after two days of disruption following Sunday’s snowfall.
