Police are investigating a burglary which took place in West Bergholt last month.

On October 23, between 2.30 and 3.30am, a blue vehicle was reversed into the front window of the Co-op store in Chapel Road, smashing it.

The people in the car were wearing balaclavas and entered the store, stealing a large quantity of cigarettes before making off.

Pc James Pamment, who is investigating the incident, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses or information regarding this offence and the vehicle involved. Anyone who was in the area at the time or has been offered cigarettes cheaply is asked to contact me at Colchester Neighbourhood Crime Team on 101.”
