TWO women and a man have suffered the effects of smoke inhalation at their home.
The fire service was alerted to the blaze in High Street, West Mersea, at 5.21am.
Crews administered oxygen therapy to the casualties - a woman aged 83, a woman aged 62 and a man aged 28 - while awaiting an ambulance team. The casualties were later left in their care.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to tackle the fire on the first floor of the detached property, measuring 20m x 5m.
The incident was dealt with by 6.03am.
