The pupils at a Wilby primary school have taken part in some very special Chinese New Year celebrations this month.
Wilby CEVC Primary School ran a set of themed classes, from crafty projects creating dragons of all shapes and sizes, to lessons in Chinese culture. The children also dressed in traditional Chinese clothing and tried Chinese food.
In addition, workshop group One Day Creative taught the children how to do Chinese Ribbon Dances, which they showcased for parents and members of the community alongside a collection of their work on February 23.
Headteacher Roisin Wiseman said: “We are always looking for ways to extend our children’s cultural education and develop a broader understanding of the world. Creating our dragons and developing dragon and ribbon dances has provided a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to engage in the visual arts.”
