The Christmas number one will be announced today, December 22, at 5.45pm.
The top three contenders to be crowned Christmas number one are Ed Sheeran, Eminem and Wham!
The Suffolk star is in the race with his single Perfect, alongside Last Christmas by Wham! and Eminem’s latest track River.
However, Mr Sheeran finds himself in two out of the three contending tracks as his vocals feature on River.
Sales closed at midnight last night for the number one single of 2017, so it is too late to have an impact on the result now.
Based on early sales reports from the Official Charts Company, Ed is the current front-runner, with Eminem just behind. Wham! then comes in at number three.
However, the iTunes chart currently sees Wham!’s Last Christmas in the top spot, Eminem’s River second and the Framlingham Star third.
