A toddler has died in a two vehicle crash near Wisbech.

The main road through Friday Bridge was closed for five hours following the collision this morning, in which an 18-month-old child was killed.

Helicopter crews from the East Anglian Air Ambulance and Magpas Helimedix were called to the scene, on Elm Road, at around 10.50am.

A man in the same car as the toddler suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, by air ambulance with “life-threatening” injuries.

The male occupant of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in King’s Lynn.
