IPSWICH Witches have signed of former British Under 21champion Ritchie Hawkins as their number eight for the 2010 Elite League speedway season.
Peterborough-based Hawkins, son of former rider Kevin Hawkins, will be doubling up with Ipswich and Somerset Sharp Rebels in the Premier League.
Hawkins is looking forward to joining the Witches, and has already been at Foxhall Stadium helping with the re-shaping of the track.
βIt was great to get involved with the work on the track - I am convinced that the changes are going to mean more exciting racing,β said Hawkins.
The signing of Hawkins adds to the East Anglian flavour in the Witches squad adding to Scott Nicholls, Oliver Allen, Carl Wilkinson, Danny King and Ritchie all hailing from this part of the country.
