A new Essex supermarket which will create 50 jobs when opened has been visited by a government minister.

Priti Patel, MP for Witham, visited the town’s Gershwin Park development to view progress on the Aldi store being built there.

The 16,000 square foot shop is expected to open in November.

Employment minister Ms Patel said: “I am delighted to see a major company such as Aldi coming to Witham.

“This is a positive economic development that will provide growth.”
