POLICE today appealed for witnesses following a serious assault in Ipswich last night.
The victim, who is in his 20s, was standing in Hawthorn Drive at 9.38pm, not far from the junction with Primrose Hill, when a verbal altercation took place between the victim and two teenage boys.
The victim was then assaulted by the pair, sustaining two wounds to the left and right hand side of his body, as well as bruising to his face.
He was taken to Ipswich hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. His wounds are not thought to be life threatening.
A force spokesman said: βAt this stage, it has not been established what was used to cause the wounds.β
The boys, one white and one black, were both around 16 and were on bicycles.
