A teenage girl suffered a slash wound to her nose after an alleged assault in Colchester.
Police said the incident took place in Vineyard Street on Tuesday, June 26, and officers investigating are appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman said: “We received reports at around 5.15pm that a girl, aged 16, received a slash wound to her nose by a girl carrying a knife.
“Initially we received reports that the incident took place in Lion Walk.
“As our investigation has progressed, we now know it started by the lift at the top of Vineyard Street.”
A 14-year-old girl from Colchester has been charged with possession of a knife and wounding. She appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on June 28 and has been remanded to appear at the same court on Wednesday, July 4.
