Two men required hospital treatment after being assaulted in Stowmarket.
The incident happened on Saturday, May 13 around 4am, and police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward and assist their investigation.
Two men were walking home through the churchyard of St Peter and St Mary’s church in Station Road West when they came across a group of five or six men near to the church, a police spokesman said.
After a brief conversation it is reported the two men were pushed to the ground and assaulted.
One of the men suffered a broken nose in the attack as well as a deep laceration to his head.
Both victims had to attend hospital for assessment and treatment of their injuries.
The group of men left the scene on foot via the main gate after the incident.
