The 80-year-old woman who died following a crash in north Essex last week has been named by police.

Sinah Connah, from Wrabness, was driving a Honda Jazz when it was in collision with a Ford Transit van on the A120 shortly after 12.10pm on Saturday afternoon.

She died at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts.

The van driver, a 45-year-old man, was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital with serious injuries. His passenger, a 14-year-old girl, was taken to Colchester Hospital.

Although there was initial concern about their injuries, they were both released from hospital and returned home to the Harwich area later that day.

The road was closed between Horsley Cross and Primrose Lane while forensic examination work was carried out. The road reopened early on Sunday.

Essex Police said its inquiries into the collision were continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01245 240590 or email the Collision Appeal address.
