POLICE are appealing for information after a distraction burglary at the home of a woman in her 90s this afternoon.
The woman was at home in Ballygate in Beccles around 3pm to 3.25pm when a man knocked at her door and asked for a glass of water. The woman went to get the water but when she returned the man had gone and her purse, containing cash, had been stolen. The offender is described as being of big and tall build and he appeared to have a large bag with him.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen him in the area this afternoon or anyone with information about who he is - or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious - to call Beccles police on 01986 835300.
