A woman in her 50s was airlifted to hospital after an equestrian accident in a village on the Suffolk/Norfolk border yesterday.
The woman, who has not been named, suffered a serious injury following the accident in Ashill, Norfolk, near Thetford, at around 12.20pm.
In a statement, a spokesman for the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) said: “Anglia One medics Dr Temesvari and critical care paramedic Rod Wells were called to an equestrian accident in a small village near Thetford.
“The team arrived on scene at 12.27pm to assess, treat and transfer a female in her 50s who had suffered trauma due to an equestrian accident.
“EEAST (East of England Ambulance Service) were on scene, but called on EAAA after the patient rapidly deteriorated.
“The patient had suffered injury to the headband abdomen. The EAAA crew flew the patient to Addenbrooke’s (Hospital, in Cambridge) where she remains in a critical condition.”
A spokesman for the EEAST said the woman suffered a “serious” injury.
