An assault took place after an argument between people in two cars in Clacton, police have said.

The altercation took place at around 4.10pm on Wednesday, December 6 in Rosemary Road.

Following the argument a woman in her 40s, a passenger in one of the vehicles, was assaulted.

A Clacton man, 40, was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail until December 28.

Detective constable Darren Buckingham, investigating officer, said: “This incident took place at a busy time of day near the covered market when there would have been plenty of people around.

“I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw something to help us find out what happened.”
