A WOMAN has suffered serious injuries following a four car crash on the A14 near Bury St Edmunds.

A WOMAN has suffered serious injuries following a four car crash on the A14 near Bury St Edmunds.

The accident happened westbound around 7.30am at Barrow and involved a black BMW, black Land Rover, a red Ford Ka and a white Citroen van.

Both lanes of the carriageway were blocked until 9.15am.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the woman suffered leg and neck injuries and was trapped inside her Ford Ka for a time.

She has been taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury her injuries are described as “serious” but not life-threatening.
